Buying gold in Ambernath, without guessing.
Ambernath is not short of jewellers. There are national chains near the malls, online-first brands, and independent shops that have been on the same road for decades — including us, on Station Road since 1999. They are genuinely different propositions, and which one suits you depends on what you are buying.

The three kinds of jeweller here
National chains
Tanishq, Kalyan Jewellers and similar. Large floors, standardised buyback across branches, certified diamonds, and the reassurance of a brand name. Strong if you want to walk out with something today or may move city.
Online-first brands
GIVA, CANDERE and similar. Light, contemporary, often silver or lower-karat gold, bought largely through an app. Good for gifting and everyday pieces.
Independent local shops
Us and several others across Ambernath East and West. Custom work, regional Maharashtrian pieces, karigars behind the counter, and terms you negotiate with a person rather than a policy.
None of those is the right answer in general. The right answer is whichever one gives good answers to the questions below.
What to check anywhere in Ambernath
- Hallmark
- Ask to see the HUID stamped on the piece and check it yourself on the BIS Care app. It takes a minute and it is the only claim in the shop you can verify on the spot.
- Net weight
- Ask what is being deducted from it. Stones, meena and colour are sometimes cut out of net weight, which changes what you get back years later.
- Making charges
- Percentage or per gram? Ask, and ask for it in writing before you decide.
- Melting loss
- Ask whether it is deducted on exchange. This is the cost that only shows up when you return.
- Custom work
- Ask whether they can make from a photograph. It tells you whether there are karigars behind the shop or only a supply chain.
Comparing us with a specific brand?
If you are weighing us against one shop in particular, these set out what actually differs — and what we will not claim to know about anyone else's pricing.
vs Tanishq →
Custom work, Maharashtrian pieces and exchange terms, against a national chain's scale and standardised buyback.
vs Kalyan Jewellers →
Made-to-order and the lightweight rebuild, against depth of ready stock.
vs GIVA →
Real 22K you can weigh and exchange at a counter, against buying light pieces through an app.
Where we fit
We are an independent shop on Station Road, Ambernath East, trading since 1999 and rated 4.7 from 207 Google reviews. We are not the biggest jeweller in Ambernath and we do not pretend to be.
What we are set up for is custom work, traditional Maharashtrian pieces, and exchange terms we will state plainly: free purity testing on gold bought anywhere, no melting-loss deduction, and no deduction of stone, meena or colour from net weight. Those are checkable at the counter, which is the point of saying them.
