Thushi, saaj, nath, kolhapuri work. These are the pieces families ask for by name and the ones the big chains stock thinly, because they are regional and they are fiddly to make. This is a neighbourhood shop in Ambernath — for us they are the everyday order.
What we make
Thushi
The close-fitting collar of tightly packed gold beads. Weight and bead size change the look completely, so it is worth seeing a few in person.
Saaj / kolhapuri saaj
The traditional necklace of linked motifs. Full-length or shortened to whatever a family wants to carry.
Nath
The Maharashtrian nose ring, in the shapes people ask for locally rather than a generic version.
Meenakari work
Hand-coloured enamel set into the gold — the pink and green you see on heavy bridal pieces.

South Indian karigari, brought in from Coimbatore.
Some work is simply done better where it has always been done. We bring South Indian pieces in from Coimbatore — a jhumka that looks like ten or twelve grams and is actually eight is that craft, not a trick.
